| so its been a long time since i've made a xanga blog. so lets see
if i remember how to do this. theres been a lot of stuff
happening but i dont really know where or how to start so.......i
wont........well i can give a brief summary. summer was
good. went back and did SEC after a 3 year break, which was a lot
of fun, went to highschool camp.....which is always fun. ummmmmm
went to a lot of new places, got to try new restraunts....and new
food.....and meet new friends. in total the summer was
great........oh also started watching a new tv series....wow i'm
addicted. GREYS ANATOMY is so good!!!!!!! so yah i remember
reading this quote in friday fellowship with the guys and i thought it
was cool and so i decided to put it in. i know its old.....like a
couple months old but its a goody. so this is from "Disciplines of a Godly Man" - R. Kent Hughes:
"The boneless tongue, so small and weak,
Can crush and kill," declares the Greek,
"The tongue destroys a great horde,"
The Turk asserts "than does the sword."
The Persian proverb wisely saith,
"A lengthy tongue -- an early death!"
Or sometimes takes this form instead,
"Do not let your tongue cut off your head."
"The tongue can speak a word whose speed,"
Say the Chinese "outstrips the steed."
The Arab sages said in part,
"The tongue's great storehouse is the heart."
From Hebrew was the maxim sprung
"Thy feet should slip, but ne'er the tongue."
The sacred writer crowns the whole,
"Who keeps the tongue doth keep his soul."
Pretty cool!!!!!!!!!!

Quote of the day - "Harrumph! well, at least you chaps have the look o' seasoned warriors -- very good, very good. Eyes front! Seen any action have ye, wot?" "Aye, we've fought tae get porridge in the breakfast line an' wounded several bad cooks. Sah!" "An' both our blades can peel onions, though we never shed a tear about it. Sah!" "Well said! You two rogues will fit the bally bill fine. So, remember, your mothers might've loved ye, but I don't. It'll be march 'til your paws drop off, sleep where ye drop an' blood'n'vinegar for sopper..." "...'Twill be a wee life o' luxury!" Brian Jacques - Rakkety Tam (A Novel of Redwall) |
